The man who threw his shoes at President Bush has not yet been given access to a lawyer, and he may have had his arm broken while in custody. When Bush said he would spread democracy to the Middle East, I didn’t think he meant he would help Iraq hold people without access to lawyers and teach Iraq how to abuse detainees. Mission accomplished?
